Electric bass guitar (commonly called electric bass or bass alone) is a stringed musical instrument that uses electricity to enlarge his voice. Its appearance is similar to an electric guitar but it has a larger body, a longer neck, and usually have four strings (compared with a guitar has six strings).
The weight of the bass itself ideally heavier than a regular electric guitar because the strings are thicker (to keep humble tone / sound), causing the wood to choose a more solid and harder to balance the pressure on the neck (neck of the guitar).
Additionally fret size (columns on guitar) greater adjusted length strings (scale).
There are many types of bass used to date. The most widely used form of contra bass and cello bass (which is used for opera performances), electric bass (commonly used for all types of performances, especially the band) and bass fretless electric bass the same but no fret (column / constraint on boards press / neck) on the bass.
